I just started my certified personal trainer certificate program last night - after choosing to go for the NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) certification. I have videos to watch, materials to read, and a lot to learn. I'm hoping this helps me help others lead more positive, healthier lives. Exercise is medicine (and sort of a fountain of youth, really)! In any event, I think this will make me a better doctor and enhance my ability to offer sound advice. An ultimate goal would be to combine my DPC with a fitness and wellness gym that all my patients could enjoy all for the price of their DPC membership. It's kind of a dream right now. We will see... one step at a time! It also doesn't hurt that this helps me to continue on my own fitness journey. At age 53, I need all the help I can get :)
