But when it comes down to it, the current health care system is broken and to some degree over-run. Fee-for-service insurance based primary care patient panels are quite large (usually 1500 to 2500 patients per physician/provider). In that type of practice you are sharing your primary care physician with 1,000's of other patients as well as myriad other administrative duties inherent to that style of care. A typical DPC physician has 400 to 600 patients in their panel, and often it's much less. So, it's not hard to do that math here - DPC wins. Having worked in almost every primary care environment available, we feel a DPC membership practice is the best environment to deliver high-quality, personalized health care.
